Marketing encompasses a huge number of aspects and is not just selling products or services. It's trying to figure out what you offer that corresponds with what the "buyer" or "audience" is looking for.

 

This is a two-way balance. You need to really understand the different aspects of what you offer -- from other peoples' perspectives. You also need to understand your target market or audience's needs. What are they looking for? How best do they meet those needs? What appeals to them? What works for them?

 

In the end, marketing involves presenting your message, service or product to an audience in a way that highlights your offerings consistent with what your target market is looking for.
